WORD of the DAY

For just as through the disobedience of one person the many were made sinners, so through the obedience of one the many will be made righteous…but, where sin increased, grace overflowed all the more. (Romans 5: 19-20)

How shall I live this Word?
St. Paul highlights a solar truth that if often meditated on by us, would make our hearts peaceful every day. It is a matter of understanding that the sin of the first human beings and of us today is a ‘no’ to God which devastates the light that we had received from the Lord. What allows us to have a very serene life is a Christian truth that dominates our Faith
According to this biblical observation, Catholic doctrine comforts and encourages us. It has an evident strength in affirming that: where sin increased from the first humans, now and always Grace overflows: Effective therapy over evil, healing of evil, and something more: the overabundance of God’s Grace in the individual and in the community life of human beings .
Lord, make me Your disciple. Give me a heart that seeks paths of the good connected to Your Gospel where You teach us to use the goods of this world without having possessions locked in the egoism of a heart dominated by the avid thirst for individual possessions.
Lord, thank You for gifting me with grace upon grace on my journey in the today of history. Truly “Your Word is a Light for my steps” (Ps 118). Grant that I many never forget this and help me to be open to receive it day after day.

THE VOICE OF LORENZO MILANI, Priest and Educator
With a word to people, nothing is done to them. On the divine level, we need grace and on the human level, we need example.
