FEAST of SAINT JOHN BOSCO

WORD of the DAY

He also told them, “Take care what you hear. The measure with which you measure will be measured out to you, and still more will be given to you. To the one who has, more will be given; from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. (Mark: 4: 24-25)

How shall I live this Word?
Pay attention to preconceptions. Jesus asks the disciples to be aware of the preconceptions with which they listen to the teaching He offers. We must pay attention to the ideas we have as we look at Jesus! His teaching was different from that of the scribes. It was Good News for the poor, because Jesus revealed a new face of God, which people recognized and rejoiced in. “I bless you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned and revealed them to little ones. Yes, Father, because this is what pleased you!”
It is up to us to have or not have God’s benevolence and mercy. If we are able to be generous, simple, aware of our limitations regarding our brothers and sisters who may seem poorer in faith, culture, and a good life. If we can read the reality through the eyes of God, we will have in addition the great love of the Father and welcome in the Trinitarian home of the Son and the Spirit..

THE VOICE OF Mother Ignacio Angeline, Nun
The ability to read reality, to listen to each voice, and to catch the word of God is like the daily experience of Paul’s affirmation “Nothing is without a voice” (I Cor 14:10). And this reading and listening must be done with intense affection. In fact, the Word of God, almost as a little child, lives on this affection.
