WORD of the DAY

Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you. (Luke 6: 38)

How shall I live this Word?

We need guidance every day to help us to translate into actions the things we believe, love, and hope.  Today’s Gospel gives us the quality and the measure of love, of generosity, of availability, of the gaze we give to what happens around us and inside us.  Does the vital contestation of what there is prevail over the negative criticism of what is lacking?  The evidence of what is good is stronger than deciphering evil.  This is because God’s mercy is before human fragility and the power of forgiveness repairs, annuls, and prevents every sin.  Beyond any logic of do and it will be given, the performing gift of mercy regenerates the existence of bodies and souls, because it is pure love of God that brings abundant life to all!

Lord, Your forgiveness makes us live and revive.  Help us to receive Your gift and teach us to forgive.

The Message of R. Pannikar

Forgiveness is an act of de-creation, it annuls the sin.  It is an active participation in the ongoing creation.  It is the overcoming of mechanistic causality thanks to the power of freedom.
