Monday after Pentecost

WORD of the DAY

A man planted a vineyard, put a hedge around it, dug a wine press, and built a tower. Then he leased it to tenant farmers and left on a journey.  At the proper time he sent a servant to the tenants to obtain from them some of the produce of the vineyard.  But they seized him, beat him, and sent him away empty-handed. (Mark 12: 2-3)

How shall I live this Word

Just as the man carefully entrusted his vineyard to the farmers, God has entrusted His own life to us.  He has done great things for us; He has taken care of us with love and continually embraces us with His tenderness to remind us that we are already saved from our sins.

He is the owner  and He vigils beside us, letting us produce the fruit of our works.  He waits for the proper time, the right moment He knows to take us to Himself.  The opportune time is the favorable time, it is the day of salvation.  Remaining in the expectancy of His coming is the secret of producing fruits of good, waiting for the One who has given everything to us.  Thus our life will grow in grateful love.

Come Holy Spirit to visit Your vineyard and take with You all the love I can give You.

The Voice of St. Boniface, Martyr

We are not mute dogs; we are not silent spectators; we are not mercenaries that flee when the wolf comes.  We are solicitous and vigilant shepherds over the flock of Christ.  We preach God’s plans to great and small, to rich and poor.  We proclaim Him to every class and to every age until the Lord gives us strength, at favorable and unfavorable times.
