Third Wednesday of Easter

From the Word of the Day

For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. (John 6: 40)

How should we live this Word Jesus_103_small

Eternal life is the very life God gives to our earthly existence that prepares us for the immortal one in Heaven, the one that already here on earth makes us God’s children.  The condition to obtain this great gift is faith, which makes us contemplate in Christ, the Son of God and orients our whole earthly life to the person of Jesus.

Eternal life begins here on earth, believing in God, acquiring a new way of seeing ourselves, earthly realities, and human history.  Jesus takes away our fragility from us and the uncertainty of things in order to bring us to the fullness of spiritual life, and He makes us discover eternity by participating in the very life of God.

O Lord, grant that my faith may be humble and not presume to base itself on the experience of my thoughts and feelings.  Help me to surrender to the witness of the Holy Spirit and not have any other better guarantee that in docility to Tradition and the Magisterium of the holy Church.  Amen. (Paul VI)

The Voice of Sören Kierkegaard, modern Author and Philosopher

Nothing finite, not even the entire world, can satisfy the human soul that feels need of the eternal.
