Saturday after Ash Wednesday

From the Word of the Day

Then the Lord will guide you always and satisfy your thirst in parched places, will give strength to your bones and you shall be like a watered garden, like a flowing spring whose waters never fail.      (Isaiah 58: 11)

How should we live this Word cross

We are invited to actively participate in the prolongation of salvation in the world, for our salvation and so that other people may say yes to the salvation that is Jesus.  Active participation does not mean we have to do everything by ourselves, without support and without reference persons.  Perhaps we will not have the support of some powerful person; perhaps we will not earn following the Lord.  But it is certain that we will not lack God’s Grace; His consoling Spirit will always be with us who transforms into evangelization our every pastoral conversion.  When we turn to someone whom we first considered worthless and change our view of the person, we are converting ourselves and permitting God’s energy to revive our bones!

In my pause for silent contemplation, I will ask Jesus to help me be His faithful follower and thus cooperate in salvation.

Lord, be my guide always and do not allow me to live in arid lands.  Irrigate my heart with Your love.

The Voice of Pope Francis

The Virgin of Nazareth, the promised spouse of Joseph, thus becomes the perfect icon of the Church that evangelizes because it was and is continually evangelized by the work of the Holy Spirit who made her virginal womb fruitful.
