Friday after Epiphany

From the Word of the Day

Great crowds assembled to listen to him and to be cured of their ailments…

(Luke 5: 12-16)

How should we live this Word healing lepers

Jesus is the good word that saves.  He is the only Savior of the world.  However, we must never forget that is action is deeply tied to ours and He never stops telling what our part is.  We cannot exempt ourselves from helping Jesus to prolong His salvation in our life and in the life of every person.  Jesus has chosen His disciples to help Him, even as they witness all His miracles.  He does not ask them to be magicians or to go to rich people but rather to involve themselves in sharing, in animation that solicit the energies of everyone and therefore generate a good and abundant life for everyone.

In my pause for silent contemplation, I will ask Jesus to show me how I can cooperate with Him in doing His work of salvation, bringing life and light to every person I encounter.

Lord, help me to involve myself in the duty to share as the concrete expression of compassion and of real mercy.  May the Jubilee Year of Mercy help me to build lasting structures of communion and of love!
