From the Word of the Day

“Hail, full of grace!  The Lord is with you.”

(Luke 1: 28)

How should we live this WordMary

Rejoice, beloved of God, you are no longer alone.  He is with you!  These words were addressed to Mary, but also to each of us from when the Beautiful News of the Gospel entered into our life.  Baptism is the door to our joy and, from this, ‘Beloved of God’ is our name and what we are called to be.  It is our new name.  It is the imprint that makes us God’s children.  This name places within us an aversion to evil.  Jesus fills us with Himself, saves us from evil, and opens the doors to infinite joy!

From here, the gift of Mercy flows, from his Passionate Love.  For Mary, it is the anticipated gift of Easter, which will be ours later.  Jesus wants to make His home in us to remain with us always.

In my pause for silent contemplation, I will ask Jesus to make me always aware of His presence in my heart and thank Him throughout the day.

Mary Immaculate, guard me from evil and grant me peace!  Guide me in this Advent journey!

Not with blows, but with kindness and charity, you must win your friends.  Teach them right away about the ugliness of sin and the beauty of virtue.
